Hubby and I went to Giant nearby our house last night for grocery shopping. My attention was caught by this food packaging. It is a frozen food and the packaging is the shape of Mickey Mouse's face. So I took a closer look and it is actually Ayamas' instant Bolognese Spagethi. Yum! The packaging and also the portion are meant or kids. It comes with sides which consist of corn and chiken slices. It is a ready-to-eat meal which is very covenient for all working mom's and is bealive are able to attract the fussy eater! The price is also very reasonable. RM6.90 per set. so boleh la belo and stand-by dalam fridge. Just in case u are super busy or come back late from work and too tired to prepare a male for your lil munchkin.

Maternity & Children Expo 2011

I've been to the 1st Maternity & Children Expo that was held in March, early this year. At that time, I was 5 months pregnant with my baby. Sebab rasa expo tu best sangat, I went there twice! one time on my own, the second time with hubby. So when I heard they are conducting the 2nd Expo, I decided to go again! this time my baby is already 4 months old! This time what I dont like is the door gift. The 1st expo, i receive so many interesting door gift. This time around is a bit lousy. The marketing team needs to work harder to get sponsors for the 3rd Expo next year!

But what I like is there are more booth this time. Even Mother Care opens a booth too. They are selling all items at 50% - 70% discount!

The above are items that I bought. Notice the red bag? That is the diaper bag that I bought from mother care booth. Original price was RM310. After less was only RM130! sangat cantik and so many compartments! it even comes with bottle warmer and baby changing mat.

I am soooo looking forward to he next Maternity & Children Expo in March 2012 (the 4th Expo will be in November 2012).

I had Bisou Red Velvet Cupcake today during lunch. The cupcake is to die for! the cake is so moist and fresh. The cream cheese frosting is simply divine. And the price is just RM5/ pc. The size of the cuppies is big for the price you are paying. and the best part is that they did not compromise on the quality and taste! Sila la try.. pasti nak lagi. huhu

What is red velvet actually? Its just chocolate cake with red coloring! but it taste really2 nice, a taste of its own... weird huh?

Siapa rajin nak buat sendiri, here is red velvet cake/ cupcake recipe. Selamat mencuba!

Red velvet cake
Cake:
2 cups sugar
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
2 eggs
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 ounces red food coloring
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon vinegar

Icing:
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
1 stick butter, softened
1 cup melted marshmallows
1 (1-pound) box confectioners' sugar
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup chopped pecans

Cake:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a mixing bowl, cream the sugar and butter, beat until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition. Mix cocoa and food coloring together and then add to sugar mixture; mix well. Sift together flour and salt. Add flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Blend in vanilla. In a small bowl, combine baking soda and vinegar and add to mixture. Pour batter into 3 (8-inch) round greased and floured pans. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from heat and cool completely before frosting.

Icing:
Blend cream cheese and butter together in a mixing bowl. Add marshmallows and sugar and blend. Fold in coconut and nuts. Spread between layers and on top and sides of cooled cake.

I bought this deal on Dealmates the other day. 50& off for chicken briyani set at ruz aladdin, TTDI. I've been to the one in Jalan Ampang. And the briyani is realllllyyyyyy good! So I'm expecting the same from this one. discounted price sum more!

The set comes with a Chicken Briyani, Sirap Bandung, and Rojak Buah. Hubby sgt la excited since Sirap Bandung is his fav!

This is the indoor area of the restaurant @ 8pm. Tak ramai orang lagi time ni. probably because it is still early for dinner. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. I loike.

We presented the delamates certificate. The friendly staff asked if I want a baby seat. Hahaha… my baby is merely 3 months old, he can’t even hold his own bottle, how to sit la macha! Hehehe. Thank you for the nice gesture tho :p I told the waiter that I want my drink without ice and hubby’s with ice.

Our drinks come a few minutes later. And terkejut sekejap sebab air sirap bandung yang dinantikan, bertukar menjadi kale hijau. Uik.. We called the waiter back and ask him. He told us that the package that we bought comes with calamansi drink, not sirap bandung. We’ll, saya memang pelupa, tapi saya tau baca.. I ask him to bring back the certificate and there, sangat la clear tulis “SIRAP BANDUNG JOHOR”. Tak dapat johor punye pun takpe, janji sirap bandung.. hehe.

Apparently the owner of the restaurant is there having dinner with his family at the open air area. He came to our table and apologized and took our drinks to change it. Tapi saya rasa kesian pulak, so I just ask him to change just one drink for hubby. Aku minum je la air kale hijau ni.. Nampak sedap jugak.
Next the Nasi Beriyani Ayam sampai complete with acar and kuah and what not. Terkejut lagi skali, not because ayam bertukar jadi kambing, but because the portion of the Nasi is really2 big. Ayam dia pun sgt la besar. Memang woth the money that you paid for. Nasi dia pun sgt la sedap. Cukup lengkap semua rasa. Tak makan dengan kuah pun takpe.. sangat sedap!

So hubby and I decided to just share a plate. Because saya confirm takleh habiskan one by myself. So we asked the waiter if we can tapau the other one and he gladly do so (altho dalam certificate tu clearly dah tulis for-dine-in-only)

This is the dessert (or should it be served as appertizer? hmmm). I have no comment on this. Rasa biasa je, nothing to shout about. Cuma rojak ni sgttttt pedas. Dorang terletak extra cili kot.. berair2 nak hidung makan this rojak.

Verdict = you guys should go and visit this restaurant. either in Jalan Ampang or the one in TTDI. ada byk lagi food on their menu. western food pun ada. huhu

I started blogging in 2005. Back then, blog were not as famous as it is now. Dulu rasanye ada berapa kerat je active blogger. Right now, people actually make a living through blogging. There are a few famous ones like Pink Stilettos and Red Mummy to name a few. They make more than 10K through blogging alone! Dasyat kan… tapi ye la, the traffic to my blog is just about 150 – 200 unique visits a day. Dorang punye ada more than 170K visit (through advertisement)! Crazy. Pelik tapi benar! Hehehe

So, since I love to write/ blog (Cuma kekadang angin malas tu ada), I decided and aim to get some earning from blogging too. Tak banyak, sikit pun takpe. Hehehe. Tapi kalau tak dapat pun, I will continue to blog. Out of my passion… owh, walaupun follower saya hanya ada 9 orang.. hehehe

Chuncky Loaded Pizza

The other day, hubby and I decided to go to Pizza Hut for dinner. Simply because I am too lazy to cook, and we dont know what to eat, and most importantly is because it is near to our house.

Browsing through the menu, we decided to try the new Chunky Loaded Pizza that they are offering right now.

looking at the menu, I know for sure I will not get what I saw. It is too good to be true. Well, true enough, indah khabar dari rupa. But for the price you are paying, kira worth la jugak. Tapi husband tak suka, "the taste is too asian" katanya. Ye la, kita makan pizza nak rasa Italy.. hehe

The set menu comes with carbonated drinks (hubby drank both glasess since saya masih pantang ais and air gas), and I just had warm water (they charge RM0.50 for it.. hesh, bagi free je la). It also comes with soup and this crapy garlic bread. they might as well call it "roti planta". garlic tak nampak langsung. Can smell garlic, they prolly use flavoring.

We also add on BBQ Chicken Garlic. Sgt sedap! tak rugi order.

All in all, kira ok2, so2 je la. Cuma tak puas hati with the marketing gimmick :(

Sirap Bandung 3 Layer

This is the first time I drink Sirap Bandung 3 layer which consist of syrup, condensed milk and brown sugar. It looks yummy, no? well, it is yummy! thrist quencher and did I say yummy? hehehe... sampai skarang dok terasa-rasa kat lidah ni..

Orange Saloon

I am sure by now most of you are aware of websites that offer fabulous discounts on restaurants, saloons, and other shops suchs as dealmates and milkAdeal. I purchase the above deal recently.

RM58 instead of RM218 for a haircut by a professional creative stylist + moisturizing treatmen using Alfaparf Milano products + wash + blow at Orange Salon.

The location of the Salon is at Southgate Commercial Centre. The location is quite convenient if you dont mind the jem! and parking is free too.

The saloon has a very classy design altho I cant find anything that is in 'orange' color.

The staircase behind me lead to a manicure and padicure area. nice huh?

The PC is located at every booth. I dont know if it is meant for customer to used because I was not offered to use it.

Altho the deco of the saloon is nice, the services are nothing to shout about. The so called "professional creative stylist" that was assigned to me was nothing near creative nor professional. He did not recommend anything and just follow whatever I asked him to do. And my hair was shampoo and washed at the basin. By right, normally your hair will be shampoo at the booth first and later wash at the basin. And normally the hair wash that I get from other saloon will take about 15 - 20 mins (they will put shampoo on your hair twice), but here, it only took 10mins with only one wash. Dah la rambut saya tebal, rasa tak bersih and tak puas :(

The hair cut pun macam orang baru belajar potong rambut. how can they call themself professional creative stylist? and the moisturizing treatment pun ala-kadar je..

Rasa macam serik pulak discounted deals. Service yang dapat pun "discounted" jugak.

Dulu, before ada baby, I never bother to take note of mother's/ baby's room in shopping mall. Now, when I have one, baru la kelam-kabut cari/ tanye mana baby's room. As of today, I've been to 3 baby's room. One in Jaya Jusco, Bukit Tinggi, another in I-Setan, KLCC and Alamanda. I managed to take photos of the one in Bukit Tinggi (because I was impressed with the design, layout and facilities. The one in I-Setan is really nice too, tapi tak sempat amik gambar. But the one in Alamanda really sucks. Dah la all wet and slippery.

The entrance to the Baby Room. Very fancy and inviting. Located at the baby/ children floor (Level 2)

The Changing Tables. Nice and clean (that is my baby's stroller btw :D)

Other facilities include hot water and RO water dispenser

The nursing room. There are altogether 3 nursing room available for the privacy and comfort of both mother and baby.

When we were in Alor Setar, Kedah a few weeks back, hubby and I decided to take sometime off and leave our baby with hubby's family. We went out to the mall and bought DVD's and on our way back hubby suggested for us to have drinks at Old Town White Coffee (because we are a sucker for its White Milk Tea). On our way there, my attention was caught by a cafe named Spring's Leaf Cafe.

Hubby hesitated at first, takut tak halal (He is very fussy when it comes to food),but we saw a few Malays in the cafe so he was ok :)

The cafe is has a very nice setting, with nice furnitures.

Surprisingly the food & drinks (that we ordered) is very delicious and very affordable too! For the price that they tag to the food, I would expect something simple. But turns out the food presentation as well as taste were not disappointing.

I used to crave for lychee drinks during the final trimester of my pregnancy. I drink it everday and sometimes 2 to 3 times a day! cant get enough of it. Sampai mamak kat rumah tu dah tau, tak payah order. Nampak je muka aku, terus bungkus air laici. Siap dapat extra buah :) kesian tgk aku pregnant kot.. rezeki baby

Anyway, recently (duirng fasting month), Tropicana Twister launched a new flavour to its range. What flavor? yes, your are right... Lychee! OMG!!! keluar je iklan, the next day suruh hubby beli. OMG lagi skali... SANGAT SEDAP ok! ever since, I am hooked. dalam masa less then a month, rasanye nak dekat 10 botol dah kitorang beli.. hmmm... (90% of it, yours truly la yang minum).

Worth to try. I am not a fan of lychee drinks that they sell in the box tu (Air kotak laici). Tapi yang ni memang sedap. Tak rasa fake (they claimed it was made with real fruit.. hmm) and tak manis sgt. Every year time Ramadhan, misti tak miss iklan kurma dari yusuf taiyoob. Yang lawaknye, iklan dia siap ada suara perempuan berbisik.... "yusuf taiyoob...." hehehe

This year dorang introduce new kurma range which is chocolate coated dates with almond (Chocodates). Yuummmy!

Choc coated dates with almond is not new. Dah lama dah ada. Infact, my reatives yang pergi Mekah for Haji or Umrah pun selalu bawak balik. It is like a premium item la. Mahal sikit harga dia.

So I was so tempted to try it (the one by yusuf taiyoob), ye la, dah hari2 dengar iklan dalam radio on my way to work (before puasa). I asked hubby to go look for it (Since I am in my confinement and are not allowed to go out). Hubby search for it high and low.. kat Giant, Pasar Ramadhan, tapi tak jumpa. So he ended up buying chocodates of other brand. But I am not satisfied.

Nak dijadikan cerita, while I was browsing the FB looking at the stuff that people sell on-line, I came across a page that sell yusuf taiyoob's choco dates! saya sgt la excited, I ended up buying 2 big boxes! (1 box contained 12 smaller boxes. The small box contained 3 chocodates). 1 box is RM35 so one chocodate cost about RM1! mahal kan... tapi sebab teringin punye pasal.

Verdict: Tak menyesal beli! rasa chocolate dia sgt la sedap... (rasa chocolate mahal...) and the almond and date is soooo fresh.

Rupanya, yusuf taiyoob did not produce the chocodates... they are just the importer and just repackage the box with their logo/ label.

Mohd Chan Restaurant

A few week before I due (for delivery), my husband took me for lunch at a Chinese muslim restaurant called Mohd Chan. Apparently this restaurant is quite famous with a few branches in Klang Valley. The one that we went to is in Shah Alam.

Sedap ok. Altho it is quite pricey, but memang puas hati. The serving portion is quite reasonable and the taste is yummy! At first we wanted to order white rice with several dishes (butter prawn yang meja sebelah order nampak sangat la sedap), but we decided not to as t is just the two of us. confirm tak habis.. kalau makan ramai2 sronok la.

I had this rice set. Black Paper Beef with White Rice.
I am not a fan of beef, tapi time2 mengandung ni, selera la pulak!

Hubby had this Ikan 3 Rasa with White Rice
(sedap sgt! rasa manis, masam, pedas dia sume complete la)

Since the Rice Set macam takde sayur, so we ordered this Stir Fried Bean-Sprout (rasa ala2 tepanyaki)

So sapa2 yang suka jalan2 cari makan tu, can give this restaurant a try. Chinese concept and yang penting, halal...

Semalam teman husband pegi gunting rambut kat area rumah. Kedai favourite dia katanye... bila dia masuk, sebut je "macam biasa", ane tu dah tau nak gunting macam mana.. hehehe

I was just wondering as I looked at the entrance of the shop. Kenapa semua barber shop ada this same, typical lampu yang berpusing2 depan kedai dorang? apa significant dia dgn barber? tapi mmg bagus la siapa yang invent this idea sebab takyah tgk signboard, nampak lampu ni je tau dah kedai gunting rambut :D

30 weeks and counting

I'm in my 30th week now. I'm growing really big right now. Get tired easily. Remember how I said that my my pregnancy is kinda easy? well it got hard when I enter the 3rd trimester.

I now have morning sickness. My mood swing is swinging faster. Dont even ask about heart burn. I got it like every hour of every day. But I am not complaining. Just saying.

The only thing that keeps me going is the "kick" that I got every once in a while. It gets stronger and harder nowadays. Mummy knows you are strong cutie pie :) Just hang in there a little longer and Ill see you whenever you are ready. I cant wait to touch, and smell you. I really do.

My belly is growing every day. I got off balance easy nowadays and also a lot more clumsy. The other day, when I got back from work, I feel really hungry. So I decided to make my self a hot cup of milo. I poured boiled water into the mug and carry the hot milo to the living area ready to open a pack of cream cracker. As I was about to sit down, my hand knock on the mug and to my horror the whole content in the mug poured out onto my thigh. OMG!, its burning! I dunno what to do for first aid treatment, and just put the remedy that my mom always use when I was younger, which is toothpaste. It cools down the burning sensation for a while but it is still painfull until today. Still ada red-mark and bruise. (I cant imagine macam mana orang dera kids by pouring boilling water onto the kids body :( sakit ok!)

A few of my friends around me is currently pregnant. The girl who’s cubicle is next to mine is just 4 days apart from me. My best friend is also 14 weeks along. So we can’t help but to exchange notes with each other about our pregnancies. What I want to share here is my feeling of loneliness. My friends always told me how their mom will come over to their house at weekends to cook their favorite food, to be with them and sharing tips and petua. I will get stories like,”my mom masakkan rendang last weekend”, or “rasa teringin nak makan masak lemak la, nak suruh my mom masak la hujung minggu ni” or “my mom is coming down to KL this weekend to be with me”. And I will be so… hmmmmm… I dunno how to describe my feeling. Sad maybe, or lonely.

I know I have my husband. But it is not the same. I’m sure you would agree with me. Sometimes I have questions to ask about pregnancy like can I drink air kelapa? What is the food that helps with my heart burn? Why my feet are swelling?

Do you know who I turn to to get the answers? GOOGLE! I learnt a lot about pregnancy from the internet and pregnancy books. I feel so sad thinking about it.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t blame it on my mom. She is really old and is really sick right now. The last thing I want to do is to burden her with my situation. Plus this is going to be her 6th grandchild. So there is no excitement there.

I just hope that my sisters are grateful that my mom was healthy when they were pregnant. My mom gets to cook them nice food during their pregnancy, take care of them during confinement and look after their baby while they go to work.

I on the other hand have to go thru this pregnancy alone (with my hubby by my side of course), and is currently looking for confinement nanny to take care of me and my baby after delivery. And I was craving for “rendang kerang” the other day and until today I can’t find them at any restaurant L

On the lighter note, I thank Allah for blessing me with easy pregnancy. The baby is behaving very well so far, and I have no craving for weird things. So my hubby doesn’t have to go out at the night just to find that something that I really2 want to eat. I really hope Allah will bless me and my baby for a longer time, or even forever. Coz I’m alone, I don’t think I can face more challenges or dugaan.

26 weeks and counting

Today is my 26th week. Last few weeks I did a detailed ultra sound. This is not like the normal ultra sound. As the name suggest, it is well...errr... detailed. The doctor will check the neck bone (to see if the baby is down-syndrome or not), check the hand bones, thigh bones, size of the head, the connection of the heart, the liver, number of fingers, and many others. The ultra sound took almost an hour to complete (and RM350) and it is all worth it. At least we get to be prepared for any "situation" even before the baby is born. Alhamdulillah, my lil bambino is fine. Mommy knows you are one tough lil guy :) and yes, my lil bambino is a he :) (dgn confidentnye saya boleh beli baju)

My pregnancy have been treating me really kind. No any sort of morning sickness, tiada alahan, not even for my husband. My baby is behaving really2 well. So my pregnancy have no effect what so ever on my work (apart from difficulties to move around as fast as before due to my growing size and shortness of breath)

My baby is kicking harder each day (probably sebb daddy suka sgt bola, main bola, surfing bola, and tgk bola!).

I've read sumwhere that if u r having an easy pregnancy, the tough part will be during the delivery. I dunno. I certainly praying everyday that it will be easy for me all the way.

And yes, I'm piling up the weight more than I'm allowed. *sigh* That's the thing, I have no sickness, and my appetite is sky rocketing. Certainly not a good combo!

Ikan Cencaru Sumbat Belakang

Haritu hubby out of the blue said that dia teringin nak makan ikan cencaru sumbat belakang. My mom make the best cencaru sumbat I've ever tasted! But I didnt ask her for the recipe of the sambal, instead, I google it. so dapat la recipe kat bawah ni.

Ramuan:

1 cawan kelapa parut
2 sudu besar cili boh
1 sudu besar udang kering
3 ekor ikan cencaru (dibelah belakang)
3 ulas bwg putih
4 ulas bwg merah
1 sudu besar gula
1 batang serai

Cara penyediaan:

Ikan cencaru dibelah belakang. Basuh dan ketepikan.
Tumbuk bwg putih, serai, udang kering dan bwg merah.
Panaskan minyak. Tumis bahan2 yg ditumbuk.
Masukkan cili boh, gula dan sedikit garam.
Masukkan kelapa parut dan letak secubit serbuk kunyit.Gaulkan hingga sebati dan tutup api.
Ikan cencaru digaulkan dengan sedikit garam.Sumbatkan ikan dengan bahan2 yang dimasak tadi.
Bakar ikan dalam Oven pada suhu 230 drjh celcius.
Kalau nak digoreng pun boleh..pastikan goreng deep fry.

For some reason the sambal turns out to be not so nice. It was ok, but not to my liking! rupa2nya my mom tak guna kelapa pun. Probably I'll try her version in future.

I was watching Oprah and she is discussing the movie that was adapted by the novel written by Erich Segal, called Love Story.

I was excited and shocked and cant help but to recall the book that I've read more then 10 years ago back in the university.

See, university life and library is very synonym. but not to me. I hated library. I only go there to find books for reference (just because my lecturer ask us too), or just to check out handsome guys (the seniors I mean.. hehe).

A few weeks before final exam, out of guilt and because all of my friend is going, I decided to go to library for a group study. But I loose focus and started to look for books. As you may know by now, I love to read and I am a sucker for love stories or movies. So this one particular book caught my eye. The title is simple, Love Story. Bang! I just take the book and decided to borrow it. The book is not that thick, so I manage to finished it in 2 days. And instantly I felt in love with the book.

The way it was written, it seems so real, as if you are watching the plot in real life. And the love between the main character is so pure and so simple and true. I got so emotionally involved and of course, I cried (really2 cry that I wet my pillow!) towards the end of the story. Yes, it is not a happy ending. It can be a happy ending, depends on how you interpret the ending.

One of the quote in the book that I love is "Love means never having to say you are sorry, ever". Well, it is true right? if you love someone, you are willing to forgive and move on (provided you dont repeat the same mistake la... tu nak kena pelempang namanye).

It is a very old book. In fact, the one that I found in the library dah nak terkoyak pun (I bet the book is sooked with tears of previous people who read it). I borrowed the book a few times. I even asked a best friend of mine to read it too. She love it and she came up with the idea for us to photocopy to book so that we get to read it over and over again in the future (I know, that is not allowed, I was naif back then, and dont have enough money to buy the book from book store :p). I've read the book more then 10 times.

The book is worth reading, trust me. I watched the movie, but not as good as they missed out some of the important details and plot. Yes, yes, I know, you cant cramp the whole book into a 2 hours movie. So go on and read the book. Tak payah tgk the movie pun. The book is good enough.

PETRONAS CNY TVC 2011 (very touching, making me reflect back on my parents.. haih, will try to spend more time with them. All they want is company)

I woke up early this morning. Not extra early, but early as usual, to go to office. Turns out the road is empty. From Kota Damansara to KLCC took me only 15minutes! (it was a leasure drive mind you)

Kat office pun takde orang. Kosong je (a rare sight for KLCC)

Tomorrow is CNY. I bet most of the people is on leave for the whole week, taking advantage of the CNY break.

I'm not feeling well today. A very bad flu, sore throat and slight fever. Im planning to take half of the day off (boleh ye boss :D). I'll settle most of the work first.

Anyways, I would like to take the opportunity to wish all of you out there a Happy Chinese New Year and happy holiday :)

I am on leave today. So I decided to do the laundry and few other house chores that I was too lazy doing last week.

Dear all,

I'm very sorry. Really, really sorry with cherry on top. I'm guilty of not updating my blog regularly like I promised I would. Sampai ramai yang tertanya2 (well, just a few actually) kenapa lama tak update blog.

I have a valid reason for not updating my blog. In fact, a very strong and valid reason. I've been feeling under the weather for the past few weeks (in fact months). Bila malam je jadi sengal semacam. Pukul 5 je, I will feel really2 tired and lazy and sleepy and well... just lazy. I got to the stage where I am even lazy to take a bath or eat! All I did when I got home is get on the couch and sleepppppppp....

I cant manage my house, I cant manage the laundry and I even stop cooking. I even cut my hair short just because I am too lazy to spend extra time in the shower to wash and condition them (yes, my long silky hair.. chewah...).

All this happen to me because of one reason. And the reason is because >>>>>

And I got so excited, I decided to take not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 tests!

I entering my 15 weeks now (almost 4 months). So far the baby been behaving very2 well. Apart from my morning sickness being shift to night, I am all ok in the morning. So takde la effect kerja (thank God for that).

Will update you more on my pregnancy soon (InsyaAllah)

One of the things that I enjoy doing is traveling. This year I didn't get to travel as much as I want to. So I hope I can travel more next year (POSSIBLE KE?). Places that I wish to visit is Australia, Italy or yang dekat2 probably Vietnam or Bangkok. (Owh... and I really2 want to go to Paris and New York... one day perhaps)

I'm 30 years now, and my responsibility is increasing. In order to be responsible on other things, I need to be responsible on my own health first. I need to really discipline, and more aware of what I put into my mouth and into my body. I will eat healthily, eat more greens, drink more water, eat less sugar and processed food. And starting to religiously take my supplements too.

I guess this is the hardest part of all. I am determined to get my self a thread-mill. I'm not in a condition that allows me to work-out, diet, loose weight and get in shape right now. I can only do that probably in August next year. So by 08/2011, I'll get my self a thread-mill, and work my-ass out on it and hoping to make my body somewhat like the girl in the picture above :p

And I dont know if I can do this next year, but I really2 wish I can get back to diving. I am a certified scuba diver and its been quite sometimes since I last been under the water. I really2 miss it. And I miss my dive buddy. And I miss my pink fins (yerp, my fins are in hot pink.. hehe)

Laksa Teluk Kechai

Everyone who knows that my in laws are in Alor Setar, asked me if I have tried Laksa Teluk Kechai. It seems that it is a must try!

So hubby and my in laws made a few attempts to take me there, but unfortunately, the laksa is finished (yup, the laksa can be sold out as early as 5pm!) or the stall is closed!

So finally, the last time we are back in Alor Setar, we managed to get it at around 2pm.

According to hubby, this is the most famous ones, Zakaria, Laksa Teluk Kechai (along Jalan Kuala Kedah)

Customers started filling up the kedai.

So we decided to just tapau. The funny thing is, you didnt get to order by the normal quantity, say 4 bungkus laksa, or 8 bungkus laksa and so on. It goes by kilos! hehehe... We ordered for 1kg laksa (it serves for about 5 - 6 pax). The price is RM10/kg.

This is the condiments for 1kg laksa. It is not pre-cut for you. Dia bagi seketul-seketul... bawang, timun, cili padi, telur... balik rumah, potong la sendiri ye. Bagus jugak, you get to cut and serve it fresh as and when you want to consume the laksa.

The condiments is prepared by my sis-in-law, not me... thats why it looks presentable... hehe

And the most important ingredient is this "sambal kelapa". It is made with coconut, obviously. It is not spicy as the name suggest, but the sambal kelapa will make the laksa thicker and gives more "kick" to it. Seriously... memang kaw!

So apa lagi, sila la try if you happen to be in Alor Setar.. I'm not sure if this Laksa is available else where.

It's our anniversary!

12.12.09 ~ 12.12.10 and still counting.

Our marriage is one year old!

The year gone by just like that. Tak terasa pun. Probably because we both were busy adjusting ourselves to married life. Adjusting to staying together, learning about each other’s behavior, adapting to each other’s family, and most of all, busy enjoying each other’s company.

I felt bless. People said marriage is a gamble. But I didn’t get into this “gamble” blindly without doing some calculative risk. So far, I am confident to say that I made the right decision. My husband is my true love, my best friend and my soul mate. He really completed me. He is my better half, literally. I’m the hot tempered half, he is the calm half, I am the talkative and social half, he is the shy and homely half, I am the shallow half, he is the deep thinker.

So far, in our one year of married life, we never got into argument. I was the one who always “merajuk”, pulling faces, giving the silent treatment, if things doesn’t go the way I expected. But he will be the one who will just keep quiet, patiently, waiting for my “emotional roller coaster” settle.

But then again, that’s what people said setahun jagung. Things are still new. We are still learning. Orang kata benda baru semua bau wangi :)

I hope I can still say the same for our 2nd, 3rd, 4th anniversary and so on. I hope this feeling that we have for each other will last forever. Even when the small one arrives.

choc and beyond

Tried and tested, new product from cadbury. Accidentally bumped into this choc when I was doing my grocery shopping at Giant Hypermarket this evening. For some reason now choc loose its magical effect on me. I am not tempted at all. Dulu memang pantang tengok... I will finish it in a blink of an eye!

But still, trying out new product gives no harm (especially chocolate :p)

Its called Cadbury Fingers (RM3.90)

It is a chocolate coated waffer. Just like the chocolate that people normally use for hantaran... ala, chocolate yang orang selalu guna untuk jadi "pagar rumah", yang wrapper kilat2 tu... yup, that one. It taste exactly the same. Cuma this one rasa "mahal" sikit :)

I left home like usual this morning. In fact, a lil bit late. But I arrived office early then usual. The road is empty. Not literally, but close to empty, not like the typical Monday morning.

I just realized that tomorrow is a Public Holiday. Awal Muharram. The whole of Malaysia will be on holiday. So people take the opportunity by taking their annual leave today to get a long stretch holiday. And a lot of people is taking the opportunity to finish up what's left of their annual leave.

I kindda like it coz the traffic is less heavy, and its easy to get parking in the office. But it sux big time coz I'm stucked in the empty office!

I made this a few weeks ago for dinner. Tak selera hari2 makan nasi and I ran out of idea of what to cook for hubby for dinner. It's fish and chips with steamed mixed vege, mashed potato, and french fries.

Are you a fan of noodles? I'm not a fan, but bila jemu makan nasi, or sandwich, and dunno what else to eat, I'll resort to noodles. All sorts of noodles, prawn noodles, curry noodles, all sorts of laksa, and the list goes on.

When I was in Subang Skypark (formerly known as Subang Terminal 3 Airport), I bumped into a restaurant that sells all sorts of noodles! The name of the restaurants, well, errr, NOOODLES STATION (spelled with 3 "O")

Just like any other typical restaurant, well arranged and most importantly, clean.

I had Nyonya Prawn Noodle Soup (RM9.90). I like the fact that the soup is thick and you can actually taste the prawn-ness in the soup and dorang tak kedekut rencah. lots of vege, egg, fish cakes and prawns.

Hubby had this. Chicken Porridge with condiments. I forgot what is the price. But I think it is about RM10 too.

What is so special about this restaurant is they make their own noodles. They claimed that their specialty springy egg noodles is made using high protein flour with no artificial colouring or preservatives.

They also offer a wide range choices such as western food, rice dishes, childrens' meals and more.

Sorry I've been away for quite some time. So many things happening to me (and people close to me) for the past 2 weeks.

First, I've been to a 3D2N training in Hulu Langat. As the name of the place suggest, true enough, tempat tu tersangat la "ulu" to the extent there was no phone signals, not even a bar!

And it was a spiritual enhancement training. So the timing was really packed, had to get up as early as 3.30am (for solat taubat, solat hajat, solat tasbih, tahajud, solat witir, and finally solat subuh.. phew) and sleep as late as 11.30pm everyday! It was quite taxing on me. But it was so "cleansing"... trust me. Kalau harap nak perform all the prayers on my own, jangan harap la kan... So it was a golden opportunity.

And the place is in the middle of a jungle and there was no source of clean water and electricity. The electricity source is from generator, so please don’t expect water heater or air-cond for that matter. And please bear in mind that it is in the middle of a jungle and the weather can get so fre@king cold in the morning… ice cold! Susah gile nak mandi!

And the best part is the source of water. The main source of water is… “Drum roll please”….. RIVER! Air sungai ok, yang tak tapis2… why I said tak tapis is because, my friend who stayed at the chalet next to mine, found a small fish inside her basin! Hahahaha… and if its raining, the water will get really murky, macam the ais… yuck! I had to brush my teeth with mineral water! Tak selera nak rinse my mouth with that water… haih

Tapi come to think of it again, org Zaman dulu2, hidup tepi sungai, macam tu la their lifestyle kan. Ok je. Kita nie je (I’m referring to yours truly) yang being pampered all the time, susah nak back to nature. *self reflecting moment*

Secondly, on the day that I got back from the training, my nephew text me and said that my mom felt down and she is in so much pain. To cut the long story short, after sending her to emergency ward in University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC; formerly known as University Hospital), the doctor informed her that she fractured her thigh and had to be warded and later operated. She stayed in the hospital for 1 week, had her surgery on last Tuesday and was discharged last night. I was here and there between home, office and hospital non-stop. On the day she went for surgery, I spent 8hours in the hospital. And the parking area in the hospital is nightmare! On average, during peak hours, I had to drive up and down the parking building for 2omins before I can secure a spot. Exhausted!

Thirdly, it is purely myself. But I will tell you that in my next (future) entry.

All of the above made my life somewhat miserable. Every day I just look forward to go home, hit the shower, put my head on the pillow and sleep. That is the only time I have to retreat. My house is a mess. TV pun tak sempat tgk, apatah lagi nak cuci baju, iron baju, kemas rumah, masak, etc.

Now I am back on track again, hopefully.

Looking forward to the long break end of this year. I’m not going anywhere pun. Just wanted to wrap myself in blanket, and watch endless movie in the comfort of my home.

I accompanied hubby to the Car of the Year 2U (COTY2U) event that was held at MATRADE. I'm not so much fan of cars, so I'll just post a few armature pictures that I took out of boredom. I repeat, cars are not my passion, so, expect more pictures, and less review/ comments.. huhu

This is the newly launched car by Proton. It is 'inspired' by Mitsubishi Lancer, hence the name Inspira. Hmmm... for those of you who always comdemned Malaysian car, I think you should just shut-up. If you can afford to buy Lancer, by all means. Kalau suka, beli, kalau tak suka, just buzz offfffffffffff

This is Neo GTI, Lotus Racing edition (did I put the name right?). I like the color. But hubby said harga dia mahal!

obsessed over shampoo!

I have hair loss problem. Not only during shower. masa tido ke, driving ke, my hair is left all over the places!

What is the main reason? Not because of pregnancy >> duh, obviously not (from my reading I found out that pregnancy is the main reason among women). Probably because of aging (I'm not old, but getting wiser), and because of too much exposure to chemicals (hair products, environments, etc). I used to have a really thick, black, shinny hair.

I've been changing shampoo like nobody's business. Pantang orang recommend shampoo for hair loss, I will be the first person to get it (not literally...)

Just look at the picture above. That is the amount of shampoo that I have in my bathroom! tak sesmpat habis, I am tempted to buy a new one.

This is my daily shampoo, Loreal Elseve. Until one day I found out that this shampoo makes my scalp oily. I washed my hair in the morning, and by the time it was 4pm, my scalp (and my hair) will be really2 oily like I haven't hit the shower in 4 days! yuck! I decided to try out new shampoo.

I tried Dove Hair Fall Therapy next. This shampoo makes my hair rough. I didnt know if it reduce the hair fall, macam takde effect je. Probably because I used it for 1 week only, not enough time for it to take effect.

This is not shampoo, its hair conditioner. Its is good. Makes my hair all soft and shiny. I didnt buy this for any specific reason, just because it is on sale :)

Next I tried Kiehl's Amino Acid Shampoo. The name sounds scary no? amino acid?? ahahaha. But the sales lady strongly suggested this shampoo for my hair loss problem. What I dont like about this shampoo is the strong smell of coconut (the main ingredients) and the fact that it is not foamy. Rasa tak puas shampoo kalau takde buih. But I've read in one article saying that shampoo with lots of foam carry chemicals that can harm you in long run... haih And it is quite pricey too. About RM80 (just the shampoo, I didnt purchase the conditioner, maha sangat)

This shampoo I bought because of the review that I read on blogs. They claimed that this shampoo is perfect remedy for hair loss. Bawang shampoo. It smells really strong (weird smell of herbs, not bawang.. hehehe) But recently, I read in one of the blog too, that it was reveled in one of the Chinese News Paper that this is a cancer causing shampoo. Scary kan! Apa lagi, into the dustbin it went. (Price: +-RM15)

So one day, I went for hair wash at one of the saloon in Bangsar, the shampoo guy told me i have sensitive scalp (red marks on my scalp) which will lead to hair loss (Which is already happening!)

He suggested Nioxin no8 (cleanser & conditioner). Memang bagus! Now after hairwash, bila tgk amount of hair yang gugur, memang makin kurang....(+-RM70/each)

Ni pulak Schwarzkopf Bonacure sensitive soothe Hair Therapy. I bought this recently pun sebab termakan recommendation from saloon people. RM135/ bottle. Blom try, nak tunggu Nioxin habis dulu.

So for those of you with similar problem, I hope the above helps. Nak try shampoo saya pun boleh, I have plenty!

When I started working in Kerteh 5 years ago, the place have nothing. Apart from Mc'Donalds where I used to hang out with friends for hours, the place have no other evidence of civilization. My friend and I used to refer Kerteh as "land of coconut tree" because of the obvious reasons.

But over the years, the place is starting to develop. More shop-houses, double lane roads, and a few kopitiam style joints for us to hang out at. And just before I left for KL, they even have a new mall!

Mesra Mall, is the name of the mall. Before i left, there were only few shops are open. Pizza Hut, Guardian, Reject Shop, Big Apple (we bought doughnuts every day! sebab jakun sangat) and Starbucks, yes, no kidding!

But recently, more interesting shops are slowing adding to the list. Body shop, toys 'R' us, Tanamera Spa, Burger King, Sports Planet futsal court, Bowling Alley, Kareoke (bukan kareoke jamban ye, ni sama taraf dgn Red-Box)and yang paling saya impressssss..... *drum roll*....... TGV Cinema!

Sparkling new TGV Cinemas... I was so impressed that I didnt even blink my eye... its in Kerteh people. Land of coconut.

Is that awesome or what? Budak-budak baru posting to this place, jangan la mengada2 nak cakap boring ke apa. The place was nothing during my time (rasa dah tua pulak). Fire-fly now flies to Kerteh (dulu takde ok), and the roads are well connected to the LPT highway (we had to use the trunk-road before to get to the highway from Kerteh). And now, you get to sip a cup of freshly brewed coffee from Starbucks in the Morning, have your lunch at Burger King and watch movie at night with friends at TGV! and all this is in Kerteh! pergghhhh... gile hebat.

Aidiladha 2010

I thought that celebrating Raya Korban in Kuala Lupur will be dull just like previous years. But I thought wrong. This year, for some reason, sangat meriah. Maybe because tahun nie raya berdua :) and all of my siblings are in KL too.

Hubby and I went for Solat Raya at the mosque near our house. After having some light breakfast, off we went to my mom's house.

Next on the agenda is visiting my dad's house. We had so much fun eating, talking, gossiping and eating some more..

How about your hari raya? I hope you guys have a blast too.

I celebrated my 30th Birthday last week. 091110 to be exact (try adding all of the numbers, you will get number 3!)

Being 30 means a lot to me. Making me reflecting back to the past 29 years of my life. I've been living my 20s to the fullest. so many things happened. I grew up, I learn, I fall in love, felt out of love, found my soul-mate, buying properties, took up scuba diving, i traveled, I was promoted, made some huge decision, some are good, some are bad, and made a few mistakes. None of them of which I regret doing. All of it made the person I am today.

I'm blessed to receive so many well wishes from friends and family. In fact, more then 100 wishes! I get to blew candles from 3 separate cakes (yes, I got 3 birthday cakes), and few other surprising gift...

From left: Charles & Keith clutch from my lil sis, Crab tree hand cream from my cousin, and *drum roll......* a netbook from my hubby! He said it is a sign of support towards my passion for blogging and also my work that requires me to travel a lot.

These were given to me at a surprise birthday dinner that hubby secretly organized for me :)

Egg Mc'Muffin

Do you still remember that Mc' Donalds use to have Mc' Egg on their menu? It is just like the English version of our local Benjo. (I'm a fan of benjo too!)

You do??? sedap kan??! its my favorite! for some reason they stop having it on their menu (mungkin sebab murah sangat or there are no demand). I must say that I'm missing it..

Anyways, I was on my way to Seremban this morning, and I was ahead of time so I decided to divert to Nilai to have breakfast at Mc'Donalds (I am quite familiar with Nilai).

I dunno if its new on the menu or what, but I just noticed it on their breakfast menu. I know they have Sausage Mc'Muffin with Egg, but not Egg Mc'muffin.

So without hesitation, I ordered for the set (c/w hash-brown and iced milo; btw, iced milo Mc'Donalds is the best!) +-RM8 (with coffee/ tea) +-RM9 (if substitute with milo)

Omg!!! I dunno if it is because it is freshly made, but with the extra soft English muffins (the buns), nicely cooked eggs (not overcooked, just the way i like it), melted cheese and a slice of chicken roll... mamma mia!!!! trust me, ladies and gentleman, that is what define good breakfast... (not sure if its healthy tho :p)

Mee Udang Juru / Kuala Juru

Meh nak cerita kat korang pasal mee udang juru pulak. This is one of the recommended place to eat mee udang in the North.

A friend of mine who gave the direction to this restaurant told me that there are 2 stalls that is famous in Juru. The first one is slightly more expensive (and less tasty) compared to the second one. But unfortunately, the second one is closed on the day that I went there (31/10/10).

By the time hubby and I reached the restaurant, it was already 6.30pm and the place is packed! parking penuh and tables are fully occupied. So we double parked our car, and decided to tapau instead (since still kenyang from our late lunch)

The price of the mee udang is fixed at RM10 sebungkus, unlike the mee udang Sg Dua which is based on harga udang. (Kedai kedua yang tutup tu, harga dia RM6/RM7 sebungkus.. bezakan!!)

So we had the mee udang once we reached KL at about 11pm.

Nampak sedap kan? Tapi tak sedap sebenarnya. Bak kata hubby "tak sedap langsung, lagi sedap maggi yang awak masak"... funny! Tapi seriously, memang tak sedap. Tak berbaloi. And you have to make extra effort to get to the restaurant since you will have to divert quite far from the highway. Kalau sedap tak pe la kan.. haih..

Yang mee udang Sg Dua tu, dah la sedap gile, nak pegi pun senang, very near to the highway. Takyah divert jauh sangat

The only plus point is the prawns is huge and banyak. 4 ekor dalam satu bungkus mee udang. And of course, it is very2 fresh too...

Mee Udang Sungai Dua

Siapa suka makan mee udang? heck!!..... let me rephrase, siapa suka MAKAN???? hehehehe.. *saya*

I lurve food. Especially good food. I can extra miles and put on extra effort just to search for good food. (looking at my weight, I should be saying the other way around!)

So last week, on our way back from hubby's hometown nun jauh di Utara, we decided to singgah sebentar at one of the famous mee udang stall in the north, i.e.; Mee Udang Sg Dua.

There are 2 popular mee udang restaurant in Sg Dua. One is on the left (before flyover), and the other one is on the right (after flyover). Hubby and I decided to go to the first one. The name of the restaurant is Restoran Aur Gading.

This is ht inside look of the Restaurant. Blom ramai orang, probably because it is still early. Plenty of seats, and the parking space are ample too.. very convenient.

Hubby and I ordered mee udang for 2, and Fresh Orange for hubby, and my ol'time favorite drinks, teh-o-ice limau (sangat typical melayu.. hehe)

Ni gambar air (duh!)... air di sini agak manis.. tapi teh-o-ice-limau sangat sedap. When I look around, I see most of the people minum air kelapa. Baru la stylo kan.. kitorang ni macam gi mamak pulak.. hahaha

This is the mee udang. Serving for 2. At first hubby and I tought how the heck are we supposed to finish the whole thing. Sangat la banyak. Tapi ternyata kami silap. After 15 minutes......

Licin! habis semua kuah kami hirup. So you know the verdict. It is so delicous. Kuah sangat pekat, pedas, and terasa la semua rempah2. And most importantly, you can taste the prawn-ness in the gravy. SEDAP! and puas.

Look at the size of the prawn. Huge and it is very fresh. I think there are about 6 pcs of prawn (3pcs per person).

Now, you must be thinking this mee udang must be expensive. Yes, it is kinda expensive, but it is definitely worth it considering the quality and satisfaction that you got from every bit, or sip.

Total that we paid is RM37.90. About RM19 per pax (inclusive of drinks). The concept here is they will weigh the prawn (you get to choose the prawn and the quantity) and plus the mee udang cost (our prawn weigh about 375grams).

Must go, must try, please try, or else you will regret it for the rest of your life! hehehe

Next I want to try the mee udang in Taiping. Korang pernah try tak? best tak? ke kat KL ni pun ada je mee udang yang best? letme know...

Sirap Bandung? Mee Bandung?

I've been wanting to visit Bandung like forever. The story about factory outlets and cheap kain2 doesn't really help to fight my temptation. There are few friends of mine who visit Bandung frequently each year to shop. Gile kan?

So one day, when I was browsing Air Asia website out of boredom, I found a very interesting package. It is their "last minute deal" package. Flight ticket (KUL - BDO - KUL) + Hotel (4Star) + tax = RM450/ pax (for 3D2N). Isn't that amazing?!

So Bandung it is! It was, like the package suggest, a last minute deal. So we booked the package and left for Bandung in less then 1 month!

I was told not to visit Bandung as the traffic (vehicle traffic as well as human traffic) can be really mad. People from Jakarta will drive up to Bandung for their weekly shopping too. So we decided to go on Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

This is Bandung Airport. Bandara Husein Sastranegara Bandung. I was surprise that the Airport is so small. Lebih kurang macam airport Kuantan. And unlike any other Airports in Malaysia, this airport located just by the road side. Macam Bus stand je.. comel kan.

The outside view of our Hotel; Arion Swiss belhotel, Bandung. (Tak amik pulak the front view, cacat). Ada terjadi sedikit drama when we first arrived Bandung. See, few days before leaving for Bandung, I e-mailed the hotel asking them to arrange for pick-up from Airport to the hotel. The hotel replied saying that they will provide free pick-up, and I was really pleased. Se asked me my flight details and the next day we left for Bandung. Sampai Bandung, I saw a few guys holding the placard with names of guest that they want to pick-up. I walk front and back few times trying to locate our names, tapi takde. aaahh.. sudah! Luckily our phone is on roaming so we called the hotel. The receptionist told me that she replied my email (which I did not read) saying that our booking is not in the system. How is that possible since the payment went through and we have the confirmation slip. So the receptionist cleared out the matter with Go-Holiday AirAsia, and apperently go-holiday mis-communicated the info. Crap!

Sebab dah malas nak tunggu, I decided to just take a cab straight to the hotel.

Nasib la this hotel is very nice. So is the staff. The check in is smooth, and the best part is our room were upgraded, for free!

The room is really huge. Rasanya those traveling with kids will fit this room comfortably. I like the fact that the room is fully carpeted (I prefer room with carpet or if no carpet, wooden flooring would do :D)

The bed is really comfy, and our room comes with free wi-fi and a Personal Computer, yes, your read right, a PC! HEAVEN... hehehe

This is th bathroom. Takde bathtub, but most importantly is the fact that it is sparkling clean! (I did read a few reviews for hotels in Bandung that has crappy toilet, yuck).

It was already late by the time we settle down in the room (Kat Bandung gelap awal, by the time 7pm, it was already pitch black, like 9pm Malaysia!). So we decided to just check out Pasar Baru (which is just 10mins walking distance from our hotel), and later go for dinner.

We had to cross this railway in order to get to Pasar Baru. Tangga dia sangat la tinggi dan curam. Kat hujung tu you can see Bandung Train Station. This is one of the mode of transport if you want to go to Jakarta. Tapi keretapi dia agak horror.. macam dalam cerita Tamil.. huhu
]Our dinner on the first night @ Bumbu Desa. We were quite worried of the price since this restaurant is quite expensive in Malaysia. But to our surprise, it only cost us RP75,000! (+-RM25). murah gile kan! sedap gile pulak tu... yummy!

The second day was spent for what else? Shopping!!!!

As you know, kat sana memang banyak Factory Outlet. But I think you need to be choosy. Ada few outlets yang totally rubbish. Jual baju yang ntah apa2.. tau2 dia tampal je well known brand like Zara, Top Shop, etc. (We can know as shops like Zara and Top Shop have their signature design, and we know for fact they dont design that kind of range).

But there are few that I really2 like. To name a few are Rumah Mode and Secret. We spent most of our time and err... money at these two place. The items that they sold are high in quality and most importantly cheap! The price might be slightly higher then any other factory outlet, but you know for sure they sell authentic products.

Owh, and I got Victoria Secret lace nighties for RM50! lawa gile ok!

This is the famous Kartika Sari that sells brownies and few other items. Frankly I think this shop is over rated. I managed to buy another best selling brownies in Bandung which is Amanda ). I eat a small slice in the hotel room, and the next day when I woke up, the brownies is full of ants! sakit nye hati!

If to compare between Amanda (RP30,000) and Kartika Sari (RP35,000), I prefer Amanda. You can find a lot of people selling Amanda Brownies along major roadside, however Kartika Sari is only available at their outlets (which are only a few). And the kedai sangat la ramai orang.

Roti pisang (Banana Bread). I saw many of the customer who came to Kartika Sari shop bought this. It is their best seller. And it smelled nice too. So I bought one. But unfortunately, I dont like it. Inside the bun, you can literally find banana which was not crushed. Seketul2. And some of banana are not ripe enough. Disgusting. But like I said, it was their best seller. Feel free to try it when you are in Bandung :)

Lunch that we had on the last day. It was in the Food Court of Pasar Baru. It was recommended by our friends. Bawal bakar tu sangat sedap. Nama kedainye, Gala Karunia. Cari la ye..

So Bandung, till we meet again (we will meet again!)

I was promoted :) yeay! it was like a dream come true. Never experience it in my life before (ye la kan, I'm still young :p)

I dunno how to describe the feeling. Nak kata seronok sangat takpun. Nak kata excited tak jugak. Probably because I was expecting it. huhu

Anyway, I told hubby the good news and decided to take him out for dinner to celebrate.

He picked a restaurant that he saw in one of the episode of Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan (JJCM). Cafe Barbera.

Let me take you through our experience from the pictures below:

Appetizer : Cheesy Prawn Toast (RM15.00)

We shared the appetizer (takut kalau makan sorang satu, jadi takde appetite pulak nak makan main course). This dish is highly recommended! It is very creamy and the texture of the cheesy prawn is perfect! It is so tasty that my hubby and I couldn't wait for it to cold down and, yeah, habis licin! sedap gile ok... must try! The portion is just nice to share. It'll leave you with the "want-for-more" feeling. which is just nice.

Hubby's Main Course : Lamb Shank (RM39.00)

I cant comment much on this as I don't take lamb. But I did take some bite of the fettuccine and the gravy tasted delicious! according to hubby, the lamb is really tender and he suspected that it was well marinated and was cooked slowly (well cooked) . Nak tau sedap ke tak, tengok la pinggan dia selepas makan

My Main Course : Beef Pepperoni Pizza (RM24.00)

The size of the pizza is medium with 8 slices of pizza. The crust is thin and the cheese was really generous. As you can see from the picture above, the toppings are generous too! I had 3 slices and hubby had 5! Nampak sedap tak from the picture above? trust me, memang sgt sedap! (I like thin crust pizza)

Hubby's drink : Americano - Hot (RM7.00)

Well, we were expecting something creamy (with cream or milk ofcourse), but it turns out to be a really thick coffee. Our fault actually. Should have asked the waiter instead of pandai2 order. (pssttt: somehow hubby slalu ter order food or air yang tak sedap.. hehe). I think this drink goes well if you are chilling with friends over a slice of coffee or reading books. Tak sesuai for dinner.

My drink : Hazelnut Latte - Hot (RM10.00)

Perfecto! Latte with a hint of hazelnut. Me likey! Btw, the cafe also serve free flow of water (warm or cold, you decide :D)

Dessert : Choco Fondant (RM12.00)

We shared the dessert too (romantic kan! hehehe). OMG people... this is heaven! the fondant cake is baked once you place your order (you will have to wait for about 20mins) and is served warm with vanilla ice-cream. I bet they used a high quality ice-cream too (can tell from the taste and texture). Owh, and just look at the chocolate lava coming out from the centre... aaahhhhh... sinfully delicious!

I went to watch The Switch staring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. The movie sucks (big time), totally predictable and the story line is slow as snail.

But there was one part that reminded me of friends. Friends that come and go in my life. Friends that leave foot prints in your heart. Friends that makes you who you are today.

In that movie Kassie (Jennifer Aniston) and Wally (Jason Bateman) are best friends. Kassie is a single 40 year old who decided to get pregnant through sperm donor and to make the long story short, she got pregnant and decided to go back to her hometown and her best friend Wally are left in New York. Before they separated, they made promise to each other that they will write to each other everyday and keep in touch no matter what. But obviously that never happened. The daily mail soon turn out to be weekly and slowly turns monthly and eventually narrow down to only exchange of festive cards.

The point that I'm making here is that the situation above is very true (not the sperm donor part, but the promise-to-keep-in-touch part). Over the years, I made lots of friends. Close friends. Starting from school years, university, from previous office and current workplace. Before we depart for different directions, to pursue different dreams, we promised to each other that we will keep in touch. No matter what. But who are we kidding? We are too occupied with our daily responsibility until slowly time and take over. What's left between us are space. *sigh*

But my dear friend(s) [you know who you are], although I cant keep my promise to stay in touch (we must be out of our mind to make the promise to write to each other daily), but believe me you are always in my heart.

If you happen to pass-by Kemaman on your way to Terengganu or happened to be anywhere near, do drop by at this famous Coffee Shop; Hai Peng (seriously, rugi tak singgah!)

My ol' time favorite drink is COCO LAVA. It is coffee blended with vanilla ice-cream. SANGAT SEDAP. It is way sedap compared to any other high-end-branded-coffee-shop and way cheaper too (but it comes in one size only. So jangan la ngada2 nak mintak small, tall, or grande :p)

Owh, and dont forget to try its roti bakar too. Kaya dia best. If you wanna tapau some as a souvenirs back home, they do sell their kopi (3in1 or 2in1) and kaya.

Pampering-my-car Week

This week I decided to really give my focus on my car. So many things need to be done to her. Service (due by 2,000 km!), Windscreen replacement (dah pecah for more than 4 months already), and wash (errr... I'm not gonna tell you dah berapa lama tak cuci kereta. Sgt lama!).

I was really grateful that I decided to pay additional amount for windscreen insurance coverage (it is optional). I paid additional RM75 and the coverage is up to RM500! So I look up for Allianz (Insurance Company) website and obtained a list of panel that I can go for windscreen replacement. You dont have to make a police report if the replacement are made at the panel workshop. And it is cashless too. How convenient!

THE 1ST DR. CERMIN ENTERPRISE

And today I went to Shah Alam to carry out the scheduled service. Owh my... Sending your car for its service adalah activity yang paling membosankan dalam dunia! I waited for almost 4 hours before it is finally ready. Macam2 la masalahnye. rim bengkok la... alignment lari la, filter aircond kotor la.. Luckily the Service Centre throw in free car wash to all its customer. So, tukar cermin = checked, service kereta = checked, cuci kereta = checked.

My friend asked me to buy for her this chocolate from the Airport Duty Free Shop.

This is one damn expensive chocolate (excuse my language). RM67.90 per bottle. I'm not sure how many chocolates are there in the tube, roughly about 30pcs i think (so the cost per piece is +-RM2!). Being the "hantu" chocolate myself, i was tempted to purchase one.

And fair enough, chocolate ini sangat la SEDAP!

The rich and creamy taste of fine chocolate (it tasted expensive too), and it has a melted chocolate in the middle. (It harden if you store it in the fridge but will quickly melt once left in room temperature).

I ate the chocolate yesterday. Once I tasted it, I cant stop my self from having the next one, and the next one, and the next one. Before I know it, I already had about more than 10 pcs! I was on sugar high! I cant sit still and literally jumping all over the house.

My friend told me that she only eat 1pc in one day (sebab mahal sgt and sebab rich sgt). So today I disciplined my self and only had 3 pcs so far :) hehehe

p/s: she will let me taste another brand of chocolate that taste way better then this one (and more expensive too.. phew!)

Hubby and I just returned from our short trip. We had so much fun! I enjoyed every moment that we spent together. Every journey, every day, we discovered something new about each other. Bad things, good things, things that made us loose our temper, things that we like to do, etc. Everyday we learned (and still learning) something new about each other. And accepting each others flaw.

Our flight from Bandung back to Malaysia was rescheduled to 8pm local time (it was delayed by 3 hours!). We arrived KL at 11pm. By then me and hubby was so beat up. Hubby had to carry and managed all of our 3 bags. Beg that we checked in weigh 15kg, his hand luggage weigh 5kg, my hand luggage weigh 8kg and that is 28kg in total! haha

He is still in bed now... sian dia. Lucky that today is Sunday and we have the whole day to recuperate.

You are suppose to come back from holiday glowing and energized, but we are in a total opposite.

But man, the shopping makes all the tiredness worth while.

I will update more in my next entry (with lots of pics).

21^st June 2010 : Positive result on Ovulation Test Kit

It gives positive result after 3rd day of testing

6^th July 2010 : Positive Home Pregnancy Test

Sebab excited sangat, I took another test the following week. They are still positive, and icing on the cake, the pregnancy is now 2 - 3 weeks. We can see progress there.

7^th July 2010 : Positive Clinic Pregnancy Test (Twin Tower Medical Centre)

2^nd August 2010 : First Gyne Check Up (Prince Court Medical Centre)

My hubby and I went to the hospital happy and excited like any other typical expecting parents-to-be (especially that we are newly wed). But we were delivered with devastating news. The pregnancy is not viable. The doc said, at 8 weeks, she is expecting to hear heart beat. But from the scan, we can only see the sac, but no fetus.. we are left speechless.

As per the size of the sac, it showed that I am only 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant, by right I am in my 8 weeks. Doc gave me second appointment on 20/08/10 to see the progress.

12^th August 2010 : Second Opinion (Tropicana Medical Centre)

I went for second opinion the following week as I just couldn't wait for my second appointment with my ObGyn. The doctor confirmed that it is a blighted Ovum. If you are wondering what blighted ovum is, read here. And the size of my sac got smaller too. hmmm...

16^th August 2010 : Brown spotting/ discharge (morning)

16^th August 2010 : Fresh Blood discharge (evening)

17^th August 2010 : Check up with gyne (Afternoon) (Prince Court Medical Centre)

The doc advised me to wait for the sac to come out naturally. But she warned me that it is going to be painful. She said I have 3 options.

1) D&C (To 'clean'' it out so that I can get over it quickly, and put me out of my misery)

2) Taking abortion pill. (It will force my abortion)

3) Let it come out naturally (It will take from 1 week to 1 month. Kalau tak keluar jugak, then I have to go for D&C)

Coincidently, my hubby is scheduled to go to Paris on the next day. How convenient is that? haih... Therefore we decided to wait until my hubby return and decide on the next step. Doc advised met not to stay at home alone and gave me 2 weeks MC as she doesnt want me to experience "it" at office. So we went home, speechless, once again.

18^th August 2010

4.00am : Sent hubby to KLIA for Paris

6.30pm : Buka Puasa with SS, Bubba Gump @ The Curve with my friend

8.00pm : Stomach Cramping

8.30pm : Left for Home

9.00pm – 10.30pm : I stayed for more then an hour in the bathroom "fighting" and struggling through out the episode. Later I was told what I experienced is actually contraction. Owh my! Patut la aku berguling2 atas lantai toilet!

11.00pm : Emergency @ PCMC

After the episode, called my cousin who is living at the next block and she took me to the emergency @ PCMC. The doc asked me few questions and since he is not an expert of Gyne related matters, he made a phone call to the Gyne-on-call. Again he asked me few question and I told him that I suspected the whole thing came out and I flushed it out in the toilet! The doc said I should have brought it to the hospital so that they can verify it.They wanted to admit me to the hospital but i refused and promised that I will come back first thing the next day.

Check up with Gyne : 20^th August 2010

scan & vaginal checking confirmed that everything came out, no D&C required. Phew! Alhamdulillah.

19^th September 2010 – First period after miscarriage.

1^st October 2010 – Follow up Check up with Gyne.

Confirmed that period cycle back to normal (alhamdulillah). Tapi I was kinda sad... because went I was there, this time, with empty stomach (or uterus), whereas every women around me in the hospital (at the gyne) is pregnant.. or with a baby, so yeah, it is kinda depressing...

also,I felt traumatized. The first time I went to PCMC with hubby, excited nak scan, tetiba dapat bad news :( haih...

but Doc said everything looks fine (she said that without even touching me... hahaha) My period is on track. So all I have to do now is "try all out!" >>> dats what the doctor said :p

Eat Pray Love - The Movie

My sis went to watch this movie on its opening night. I was waiting, anxiously for this movie forever and was devastated (ok, devastated was a bit dramatic, frustrated la kot) when I found out from her that the movie was a bit disappointing. She said it was below her expectation and boring. How can the movie be boring when the great Julia Roberts is the lead Actress????

Hearing that, hubby terus tak bersemangat nak tengok. Since I've read the story book, and been waiting like crazy for the movie to be released in Malaysia, I still go ahead and watch it, alone. I doubt it can be any more worst than Gigli (Gigli is the movie staring by J-Lo and Ben-Afleck during their courtship era. I read in the preview, the movie was so bad, that in US, people either walk out of cinema during the movie or they fall asleep.. hahahahaha)

So I went ahead with my plan and watch it at KLCC after work last Wednesday.

The cinema is a full house. Throughout the movie, once in a while, people will be laughing hysterically, but I am watching it intensely that I couldn't careless to laugh. I was so absorbed into the movie and really into it.

I can really relate to the character. I mean, Liz in that movie is so determine and go for what she wants/ believe. But of course, in our culture, divorce is like a taboo. But in the movie, but she doesn’t believe in it (the marriage) anymore , so she is determine to walk out of it, whatever it takes, even if it means loosing all of her money to her husband.

I wish I am half as determine as her. Not the divorce part (I love my husband and marriage to bits), but when it comes to making decision, especially if it means breaking other people's heart (because I like to please people, although it means that i didnt get to do what i want).

And I love the idea of traveling… where u don’t have to repeat the same routine every day, no plans, nothing to think of (and no obligations or deadline)

Julia Roberts played the role so well. She is a bonafide Movie Star!

A lot of people asking me of the verdict of the movie. My answer is: I think some will hate it. I understand why they hate it. It is not like any other typical romantic comedy movie. But I love it. It got me thinking throughout the movie. It has a deep meaning, especially about life. (Gonna watch it again if I have the time, or else, will get the DVD for future watching.

Note:

1) Julia Roberts is so GORGEOUS in that movie. She is neither hot or sexy. But she is the type of women who doesn't have to work hard (be it make up, hair or fancy cloth) to make her look stunning. She is effortlessly beautiful! omg! when she smiles, all your troubles seems to go away.

2) Julia Roberts is 43! and she more lovely and pretty and graceful then ever! She was also awarded by People's Magazine as The Most Beautiful Person, 4 times (4 years) in a row! Not a single younger actress or artist can beat this 43-year old, mother of 3 beauty.

3) Right after the movie, I went to "tapau" bolognise spaghetti from KLCC Food Court. The spaghetti that Liz eat while she was in Italy looked so delicious that I am tempted to eat one myself!

Korang pernah tak try makan nasi talam/ nasi dulang? I had my first experience during the first day of hari raya at hubby's kampung. At first I taught it was kindda disgusting to share a "big plate" with others, but afterward, I knew I was absolutely wrong. Sharing your meal in a big plate such as dulang is fun and a good way to enforce your relationship. Mesra dan mengeratkan silaturahim. And it is convinient too.. kurang pinggan nak cuci :) owh, and it saves water too! will definitely have nasi talam with my hubby (and future kids) in future!

Selamat Hari Raya everyone!

This year is my first year celebrating Hari Raya as a wife, with a husband and in laws, and away from my own family :( Anyway, it didnt turn out bad tho. I didn't cry or what-so-ever. Will tell you more about my experience in my next entry.

Hubby and I had our last buka puasa in kampung (the Hari Raya eve). So the day before we left for kampung, hubby and I decided to break our fast outside (saya malas nak masak, malas nak mess the kitchen, malas nak kemas). So I picked to Nirvana Maju Banana Leaf Rice in Bangsar. I've been to that place once, and man! it was finger licking good! (altho i did use fork & spoon instead of fingers).

My friends who've been there for break-fast advised me to call for reservation as the place can get really crowded and packed at times, especially for buka puasa. So I did and it was easy peasy. All i did is call the restaurant, my call was answered after 3 rings, and the person asked me 3 questions. 1) How many pax? 2) Smoking or non-smoking 3) Name & Hp no. That's all! no credit card guarantee, no advance payment required.

We ordered Banana Leave Rice set each for both of us and added Fried Fish (lupa dah nama ikan tu apa), Fried Squid, and Masala Chicken. And we finished our food in less then 20mins! sedap gile ok. Kari kaw giler. Siapa gile curry, sila la visit this place.

The Banana Leave Rice set consist of the following:

Controversial Iklan Raya TV3 2010

As I am watching Buletin Utama at TV3 with hubby, I saw a running announcement made at the bottom of the screen that says TV3 apologize for the recent Hari Raya advertisement that they aired on TV. "TV3 memohon maaf diatas penyiaran iklan Hari Raya Aidilfitri baru-baru ini. Iklan tersebut telah pun dihentikan semalam" (something like that).

Apa lagi, I was so curious and started to Google it to see what is so "controversial" about the advertisement.

After watching it, I feel sad for TV3. Sad that tV3 is so ignorance. It was so obvious and a huge TV station like TV3 can make such a stupid mistake (or was it intentional?). They should fire everyone in the PR / Corporate Comm/ Corporate Branding Dept. Stupid!

Grown Ups @ The Breakfast Show

I was on MC for 2 weeks (last week). Instead of enjoying the long-free-leave, I was bored to death! I woke up every morning to prepare sahur for hubby, send him off to work, and back to bed. I woke up again at around 9am, clean up the house and stare at the wall wondering what else I should do. Boring gile.

So I spent the days watching tv instead. From one program to another. And surfing internet and well, watch TV some more.

One morning, as I was switching channels, my attention was caught by The Breakfast Show at NTV7. This is a talk show similar to what Channel 9 (Nasi Lemak Kopi-O) and TV3 (MHI) had.

The host on The Breakfast Show (TBS) was promoting the new movie titled Grown Ups and they are running a contest to all viewers. I was bored, remember? So i decided why not try for the contest! All I need to do is name all 5 actors in the movie and submit my details together with slogan "I love to watch The Breakfast Show because....". I quickly search for the answers (with the help from Google of course) and email it to the show.

A week later, I received a call from people at NTV7 and was informed that I am the winner!!!! I was so happy! No, I did not win a car or hand phone for that matter. I just won a pair of tickets to watch the movie and Grown Ups official merchandise. I know it was nothing precious, but winning make me feel so GOOD! hehehe

Here are my prizes. Grown Ups merchandise (Cap, hand-fan, and fordable storage box) and a pair of movie tickets! I dont know what's up with the maxis paper bag, probably it was sponsored by them.

Chili's Ramadan Special

Hubby has been craving to break-fast (iftar) at Chili's Grill & Bar Restaurant (it is his favorite place!). So last Monday we went to Chili's in Empire Shopping Mall in Subang.

Chili's didn't take reservation for Buka Puasa. However, they will open the que for Buka Puasa at 6.00pm daily. We arrived Empire at 5.30 and by 5.50pm, the que has already been quite long! We managed to get a seat at 6.15pm (Alhamdulillah).

They are offering Ramadan Special Menu that comes with a complimentary soup of the day and a scope of ice-cream.

I had Crispy Honey - Chipotle Chicken Crispers (RM29.95).It was very tasty and served with sweet corn on the cob and homestyle fries.

Complimentary Kurma (tak sedap pun... mcm tak ikhlas je, I think lowest grade of Kurma. Tapi dah free kan, syukur je la)

Soup of The Day. There were 2 choices for your to choose from. Beef Stripe Soup or Chicken & Mushroom Soup. I picked the later one. The soup is very creamy and not so thick served with 2 pieces of Digestive Biscuits

Chipotle Chicken Crispers served with sweet corn on the cob and homestyle fries.

Sorry the picture was over exposed. For dessert, it was a scope of vanilla ice cream. It was soooo creamy and yummy! Hubby didnt take the Ramadan Specials, so he didnt get the Soup of the Day and Ice-cream (tapi he "pau' mine!)

Red Velvet Cake @ Whisk

I've read a lot about how famous the Red Velvet Cake by Whisk is. It was given a good review by many and most of the time, the cake is sold out! That is how famous it is.

So yesterday, when hubby decided to break-fast at Empire Shopping Gallery (ESG) in Subang, I decided to give the cake a try.

This is Whisk, Espresso Bar/ Bake Shop located at Lower Ground (LG) Floor of ESG. Notice the white board signage placed infront of the shop? It says "RED VELVET CAKE & CUPCAKE IS AVAILABLE TODAY". Dasyat kan? padahal dia ada je jual kek lain. I guess that shows how the cake is actually in demand.

Whisk sells a few other cakes which include Carrot & Pecan Cake, Hummingbird Cake (moist and flavorful with chopped pecans, crushed pineapple, and mashed banana), as well as other bakery items such as pies and quiches.

You can opt to have either Red Velvet Cake or Red Velvet Cupcake. Me being a cupcake junkies, I opt for the later one :D

This is not the first time I am trying Red Velvet Cupcake. I've tried the one from Cupcake Chick and am loving it!

This is the one from Whisk. The cupcake is quite dense and moist. Priced RM4.90 each. What i like about the cake is the fact it is not too sweet. What I don't like about it is the color. Merahnye! But from my reading, that is how Red Velvet cake suppose to look like. Very dramatic looking with its red color that is offset by a creamy white frosting. And in case you are wondering, the Red color come from coloring (according to its recipes that I found on the net).

The cream cheese topping is very yummy! very rich and creamy. Tapi yang spoilnye, you can trace the small bits of sugar in the icing. Am not liking it.

Owh, and the owner is very2 friendly too.

In totality, I still prefer the one from Cupcake Chick. hehe

99 Speed Mart

Have you ever heard of 99 Speed Mart? It just opened a branch in my housing area. I went there this morning to purchase a loaf of bread (yeah, I'm not fasting today, due to women-ly reason).

99 Speed Mart look like any other convenience store (or kedai runcit) that sells groceries and other necessities.

I decided to purchase Gardenia's butter-scotch bread (sedap gile ok roti ni, it taste better toasted. give it a try!)

Anyway, back to 99 Speed Mart. The retail price of Butter-Scotch Bread is RM4 (as per written on the tag). From my experience, be it Giant, Carrefour, 7-Eleven, or kedai runcit, they will charge as per what ever is written on the tag right? If the tag on the bread says RM2.90, the store will charge you accordingly. But 99 Speed Mart charge me RM3.80 instead of RM4! Impressive huh?

Patut la my cousin always promote kedai ni... Dia slalu beli susu baby kat sisni. The prices are definitely cheaper then any other place. Probably not for all items, siapa yang rajin, sial la compare.

I'm currently reading a book titled EAT, PRAY, LOVE.

It is a story about a women, Liz Gilbert, who in the eyes of many had it all -- a loving husband, a great career, and a weekend home -- but sometimes one realizes too little too late that they haven't gotten what they truly wanted from life. The book has been adapted into movie staring Julia Roberts (my all time fav actress :P). Kat oversea dah keluar movie ni, kat Malaysia will be released on 30th September 2010. At least I have ample time to finish up the book before watching it in cinema.... Tak sabar!

SHAH ALAM, 13 Ogos - Ketika adanya aduan bahawa harga makanan dan juadah berbuka puasa mula naik di kebanyakan tempat sejak dua hari lalu, di restoran Malaysia Negara Ku di Shah Alam, anda boleh makan sepuas-puasnya dengan hanya membayar RM2.

Syaratnya, pelanggan perlu menunjukkan kad pengenalan sebagai bukti mereka adalah warganegara Malaysia.

Dengan harga RM2 seorang, pelanggan boleh menikmati nasi putih dengan tiga atau empat jenis lauk dan segelas air.

Restoran Malaysia Negara Ku beroperasi di Seksyen 7 di sini, memulakan operasinya sejak hari pertama Ramadan kelmarin.

Pengurus restoran, Azahar Samat, konsep restoran Malaysia Negara Ku sebenarnya adalah untuk memberikan pendidikan kepada masyarakat tentang amalan kebersihan diamalkan serta semangat cintakan negara.

"Konsepnya macam orang dulu-dulu kerana apa yang uniknya restoran ini pelanggan yang datang perlu menunjukkan kad pengenalan sebagai bukti mereka adalah warganegara," katanya.

Restoran ini menggunakan konsep layan diri.

"Selepas selesai makan, pelanggan perlu membasuh pinggan yang mereka gunakan... ini sama seperti kita kecil dulu yang mana mak pasti akan suruh kita basuh pinggan selepas makan," kata beliau ketika ditemui The Malaysian Insider.

Beliau berkata konsep restoran Malaysia Negara Ku lebih kepada tempat makan, bukan restoran.

"Ini kerana semuanya dilayan sama sahaja tiada siapa yang istimewa.

"Lagipun kita membuka restoran ini adalah supaya semua orang tanpa kira latar belakang sama ada kaya atau miskin dapat sama-sama menikmati masakan di sini dengan hanya RM2.

"Kita juga sebenarnya bukan nak mencari keuntungan besar, tetapi lebih kepada untuk membantu masyarakat yang kurang berkemampuan," katanya.

Restoran Malaysia Negara Ku dimiliki oleh Datuk Zainal Abidin Awang Kechik yang mempunyai pengalaman selama 20 tahun dalam industri makanan dan mempunyai lima restoran bertaraf tujuh bintang di luar negara.

Beliau dikatakan merancang untuk membuka 220 cawangan Malaysia Negara Ku di seluruh Malaysia.

"Semenjak harga barang naik banyak restoran yang menaikkan harga makanan mereka tapi kita tidak kerana kita mahu beri peluang kepada semua orang termasuk yang kurang berkemampuan.

"Ini yang kita mahu lakukan kerana kita tahu ramai rakyat negara ini tidak berkempunan untuk berbelanja besar tapi di sini dengan hanya RM2 mereka boleh makan sepuasnya," kata Azahar.

Tambahnya, pelanggan yang tidak membawa kad pengenalan dan bukan warganegara akan dikenakan bayaran RM6 seorang.

"Kalau nak makan RM2 mesti kena bawa kad pengenalan jika tidak kena bayar RM6.

"Melalui cara ini ia secara tidak langsung dapat menanam semangat cintakan negara dan juga patriotisme," katanya.

Azahar berkata semenjak dibuka pada hari pertama Ramadan sambutan yang diterima semakin menggalakkan.

"Pada hari pertama kita sediakan untuk 100 orang tapi hari ini (semalam) kita sediakan untuk 300 orang.

"Setiap hari kita akan masak lauk yang berbeza kerana kita mahu pelbagaikannya selain tidak mahu pelanggan muak dengan lauk yan sama," katanya.

Restoran Malaysia Negara Ku boleh menampung kira-kira 150 orang pada satu-satu masa.

"Saya rasa ini restoran yang pertama di Malaysia yang mengamalkan konsep seperti itu.

"Selain itu, kita juga bercadang untuk membuka restoran ini sehingga sahur, mungkin pada minggu hadapan," Azahar lagi.

Ia juga menggunakan sukarelawan untuk melakukan kerja-kerja memasak.

Aspek-aspek ini dilihat dapat mengurangkan kos operasi, dan menyediakan makanan dengan harga RM2 seorang.

Menurutnya, walaupun harga makanan murah, namun kualiti penyediaan makanan tidak diabaikan malah menggunakan bahan masakan berkualiti dan memberi kepuasan kepada orang ramai yang singgah.

"Kita amat menitikberatkan kebersihan di sini kerana ini adalah tempat makan, jadi semua aspek itu perlu dijaga.

Since I'm tired and sick of Pasar Ramadhan's food, I decided to make kuih on my own for break-fast. I can still remember when I was in school, my dad never encourages us to buy our food from Pasar Ramadhan. I'm not sure why, either he believe that home made food are more economical (sebab ramai orang kat rumah) or because he think it is fresher and more hygienic. Be it samosa, kebab, roti john, kuih cara, roti jala, karipap, popia, ondeh-ondeh, you name it, semua dah pernah buat sendiri. So you see, I still have to skill in me.. hehehe

tapi, nak jadikan cerita, I forgot to buy Daun Pandan and my ondeh-ondeh turn out to be so pale, and it looks like a snow ball instead.. hehe. Hubby ask me to just add artificial coloring, but i hated fake coloring, so I decided to let it be...

Don't judge by the look, it is actually yummy! (Masuk bakul angkat sendiri :p)

The old saying that goes; You don't know what it is worth till it is gone; is somewhat relates to what I am feeling right now.

Hubby seldom travel (on business purpose) unlike me who travel like crazy. So I am so used of having him around at home. Lumrah hidup, when u are spending your life with another person, every day, every single night, there are things about the person that annoys you. In my case, its the small little things like:

1) Whenever hubby is watching football on Astro, the whole of his universe will be focused on it. Like it will determine his fate or something like that. I can walk naked in-front of him, and he wouldn't even notice!

2) He will behave the same not only during live match, but also for Sports Highlights, for the match that he had already watched last night!

Above are to name a few.

But now he is not with me. He is out of the Country on business trip. And it is driving me crazy! I miss him a lot. I'm praying to God to bring him back to me quick. I don't mind if it means that he get to watch his Sports 24/7 (as long as he let me watch my Oprah, Parenthood, Cougar Town and Accidentally on Purpose :p hehehehe). I feel like part of me went missing. My better half is not with me right now. I feel empty. I miss his smell, i miss his touch, I miss HIM.

Have you seen the new Nescafe Tarik advertisement on the TV where Harith Iskandar were on it?

Being me who are easily influenced by all advertisement there is on tv and printed media, I decided to try it out.

This the sachet... look tempting, no?

Tried and tested. It is foamy alright. Just by pouring in hot water, it will instantly give you the rich and foamy texture as if it was like normal Nescafe Tarik that you find at mamak. Tapi the taste is not as impressive. Takde "kick". I'd rather stick to the ones in Kedai Mamak.

Sugar Rush

I bought cupcakes 2 days in a row, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Both from different baker.

On Saturday I bought cupcakes from Wondermilk, Uptown Damansara.

As you can see from the picture above, the cupcake is super small, but the price is super expensive! RM4.90 each. And I can finish them in just 2 bites! However, since the price is ridiculously expensive, I finish them in 6 bites., just to ensure that I savor the taste. I must give credit where ever it is due, the cupcakes, hands-down, is the most delicious cupcake I ever tasted!Sedap giler ok! I bought vanilla with cream-cheese frosting and chocolate orange cupcake. It tasted heaven and really, really fine! Probably because of the finest ingredients that they claim they used.

Remember my Hens Night Party? My best friends bought the "Notty" cuppies from wondermilk too.

But since Wondermilk is wonder-expensive, I resorted to the second best cupcake, that is Cupcake Chic, The Curve. On Sunday, I bought my all-time-fav, Fatal Attraction (Choc cuppies with Choc Frosting) and Red Velvet (Red Velvet Cuppies with Cream Cheese frosting). And they are reasonably priced too. The size of the cuppies are twice bigger then wondermilk and priced slightly cheaper, RM4.50 each. They serve different flavor on different day. Check out their menu here. They have an outlet in Sunway Pyramid and Pavillion too.

Now im high from all the sugar. Phew!

Hidup Bertingkat

My father has always been against the idea of me purchasing Apartment. He prefers landed property for whatever reasons similar to most of you out there who prefers landed property over apartment have.

Anyways, I bought an apartment. hehehe. For several reasons of my own. But it is not a high rise apartment (i dont like high rise ones), it is only a 4 story apartment. It is nice, really.

But recently I have hit with one problem bila hidup bertingkat. My unit is Upper Ground and I have another 2 neighbors living, well, on top of me. The neighbor that lives directly one floor above me is having a problem with it master-bedroom's toilet. Well, it leaks. And the worst thing happened, it gives a direct impact to my master-bedroom. Look at the picture below.

Horror kan? We had to live with it for almost a month as it seems impossible for me to meet the neighbor to discuss this issue with them. Finally it was solved, the couple agreed to repair their washroom and all I had to do is wait for several weeks to see if my wall dried out so that my contractor can begin to repair the wall.

Luckily it was minor. All that requires is to scrap down the old paint, skimmed and re-plaster and re-paint it. I decided to use lavender color to bring up the romantic mood to our room. and look at the result below. Cantik kan? (well, it cost hubby nearlly Rm300 :D)

A thick black line appeared on the screen. It was totally distracting. I called hubby and failed miserably after attempting a few tricks. Finally he decided to call SAMSUNG helpline. Luckily the Plasma TV comes with a 5 years warranty and it comes with on-side repair service. So takyah la nak angkut the bulky TV to the service center.

But the funny thing was, when hubby picked up our home phone to make the call to SAMSUNG, he noticed that the line was dead. There was no tone at all! Unbelievable. If its not because of the tv, we wouldn't even notice that the phone is not working! patut la tak pernah bunyi! So he used his HP instead to make not just to SAMSUNG, but to TELEKOM too.. hehehe

As of today, TELEKOM had managed to solve our problem (by replacing some thing, I'm not sure what). We are still waiting for SAMSUNG-on-site-service. For now, kena la tengok tv with the thick line on the screen! weeeeee!
